Access to art education is vital for inspiring creativity and confidence in young learners. Golden Road Arts, a non-profit organization, is dedicated to making creativity accessible for all through free art lessons and community-based programs. With new grant support from the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC), the non-profit is expanding its reach this summer. The funding will be used for their “Art in the Park” program, bringing free, hands-on art experiences to local outdoor spaces.

RACC Grant Supports Free Art in the Park Program for Kids

Golden Road Arts inspires creativity in young learners through free community-based programs like “Art in the Park.” With support from the RACC, the non-profit is able to broaden its creative offerings. Through this program, students are encouraged to explore their creativity and build essential life skills in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

RACC Grant Expands Access to Youth Art Education

Funding from the Regional Arts & Culture Council is helping Golden Road Arts further its mission to make art education accessible for young learners. The $1,500 sponsorship supports the development of community-based programs that are designed to remove barriers to participation in the arts. Thanks to this funding, the organization can extend its reach and offer regular art activities for children. This support contributes to the growth of the “Art in the Park” initiative, a program that offers engaging art activities in public outdoor spaces.

“Art in the Park” Brings Creativity Into Community Spaces

Golden Road Arts designed the “Art in the Park” program as a way to provide art education outside the classroom, bringing it to local parks where children can learn, create and interact in a relaxed setting. The sessions are easy for families to attend, allowing students to try new art ideas through guided, hands-on activities. The initiative teaches basic art skills while encouraging children to experiment with different mediums, materials and techniques. By bringing these experiences into community spaces, Golden Road Arts makes art education more visible and approachable for all.

Supporting Creative Learning With Year-Round Opportunities

The “Art in the Park” initiative shows Golden Road Arts’ broader commitment to supporting ongoing creative learning throughout the year. The non-profit values free art lessons and regular creative learning opportunities for kids, because regular art lessons help children build important skills. By connecting seasonal programs with broader year-round educational opportunities, students can develop skills and confidence over time. This RACC-supported initiative serves as an extension of the organization’s broader educational approach.

Strengthening Community Engagement Through Public Art Events

By bringing art into public parks through its “Art in the Park” program, Golden Road Arts makes it easy for young learners and families to engage with creativity outside of a structured classroom setting. The free, informal drop-in style experiences prioritize participation over outcome, an approach that encourages people of all ages and ability levels to explore their creativity. It’s support from the RACC that makes these free community-based programs possible.
