Painter and Watercolor Instructor - Yong Hong Zhong
Yong Hong Zhong was born in Canton, China and immigrated to the United States when he was twelve years old. Yong attended the High School of Music and the Arts in New York City, followed by a degree in Illustration and Art History from Pratt Institute. Yong worked for Disney Animation Studios from 1995 to 2008, with his film credits including The Princess and the Frog, Tarzan and Mulan, among others.

Since 2009, Yong has transitioned to painting full-time, participating in plein air competitions around the United States and teaching watercolor painting workshops both in person and online. He has won many awards, been published in art magazines and participated in many group and solo exhibitions. Yong’s works are in the permanent collection of the Maryhill Museum, the City of Hillsboro Public Art Collection and the City of Lake Oswego Public Art Collection.
