Winter art doesn’t need to be complicated. With some simple art materials and space in the home or classroom, kids can get to work on these fun art lessons.
Winter Colors Art Project
As does every season, winter has a distinct color palette that can be expressed in various art projects. Shades of blue, white, gray, brown and silver are most common in winter-themed art projects for kids. For this lesson, you can encourage children to paint a winter scene of their choosing using a limited palette. This approach can help kids with color recognition and improve their observational skills.
Winter-Themed Animal Art
Children can begin by choosing an animal commonly associated with winter, such as a penguin, polar bear, snowy owl or reindeer. With magazines, colored paper, old fabric, cotton and other items, they can then create a collage using techniques like layering and overlapping.
